Monkeybone

Directed by Henry Selick, the film is a fantasy adventure that combines live action, stop motion and puppets. Monkeybone is a cartoon character created by a comic book illustrator Stu (Brendan Fraser). A freak accident throws Stu into a coma and he comes face to face with his own bizarre creation. Along with the mysterious character of Death (Whoopi Goldberg) and Hypnos the bringer of nightmares, Stu strives to break out of his coma. Monkeybone however has mischievous plans of his own.

Anne says: "A strange film – so many ideas buzzing around it made you dizzy. Fun to have a large orchestra pounding away on comic chases and mysterious journeys to the underworld. Quirky rhythm tracks provide an other-worldly feel. But I never did quite understand it!"
