Crime Traveller

Anthony Horowitz wrote this BBC series centred on time travel.

 

Jeff Slade is a maverick detective who teams up with a science officer, Holly Turner. She has a big secret - she owns a working Time Machine that was built by her late father. Slade manages to discover this and they use the machine to travel back in time to witness crimes as they happen. As a result Slade's crime solving record seems too good to be true. Jeff and Holly struggle to keep their time machine secret and to avoid meeting themselves in the past and inadvertently changing it!
