Elle
"Elle" is Paul Verhoeven’s first French language film starring Isabelle Huppert.
The story centers on Michele (Huppert), who seems indestructible. Head of a leading video game company, she brings the same ruthless attitude to her love life as to business. Being attacked in her home by an unknown assailant changes Michele's dramatically. When she resolutely tracks the man down, they are both drawn into a curious and thrilling game that may, at any moment, spiral out of control.
Part of the film consists in Huppert’s character finding out if the rapist is somebody she knows. But there are other elements in the story: Her mother and father, her son, her lover and her best friend.
Anne's music won a prestigious SACEM award in competition with 14 French composers!
Anne says: "This was a challenging film to score. I attempted to give the character of Michele a heart and reflect her complexity. The score features strings, woodwind and harp. It was a pleasure to work with Paul again."
