Tristan and Isolde

The Dark Ages provides the background for this re-telling of the classic love story. Tristan must face an agonising choice between love and loyalty. James Franco and Sophia Myles play the doomed lovers; Kevin Reynolds directed and Ridley Scott produced.

The score explores subtle Celtic modes and mixes the contemporary and the classical.

Anne says: "I took the opportunity of exploring some interesting early music instruments and combining them with an orchestra of predominantly strings. Fundamentally, this is a tragic love story with opportunities for real passion and pain in the music. I was particularly taken with Sophia Miles as Isolde who conveyed perfectly the hopeless entrapment of the character."
